Othello Thoughts

There have been many mixed emotions about the book Othello. Many people have disliked this book while many other people loved the book and wished that the book was endless and the book kept going on forever. This book was not the best to me. I personally didn’t like this book to be honest. The book was written in a type of English that I hate to read and was glad when we finished it. The book had a decent story line. It really doesn’t make sense that every person ends up dieing at the end of the book. The book had a few funny parts after you had them translated into modern day english. This book could have been way better if we acted it out the entire book like we did a few times throughout the book.  I personally hated this book when I was not reading the book aloud with a few of the other students. When I read the book aloud it was a lot better even though I did not understand most of the book. If I had the choice to read the book again, I probably would not read the book again. The characters were not the best. This book was very old based, I personally do not like classic books. Overall I did not like the book Othello it bored me a lot. The characters in the book were very weird with the words. The life they lived and the reasons that they all killed themselves and died was really weird I felt. This book was very boring and to me and very pointless. I think that we should read a different book because this one is not the best classic to read. Once we switched to the movie version of the book it turned into a way better book because it was way easier to understand what they were talking about and it was way better because the book went by way faster so we didn’t have to deal with the book anymore. This book by William Shakespeare was the longest play that I have read and led to a lot of boredom. It was the longest 118 pages that I have read in a very long time. If I had the chance to make this book better I would change it into modern day english and change the entire storyline so that there was at least a point to every single main person in the book die besides that they all loved and cheated and hated each other. Overall I did not like this book very much. I think it is probably rated a 2 out of 10.

                                                                    Cliff Lee Inspires

There are many people that inspire me. Many athletes, family members, and many other famous people. Of all of these people I Chose Cliff Lee, I have grown up loving to watch this guy play baseball. As a kid he was a player that you loved to hate as I read in an article once. He came from the state Arkansas. He grew up here. He didn’t start playing organized sports until youth coaches requested him to play with their team because of his raw talent. He ended up playing high school baseball. He got drafted in the 6th round of the Major League Baseball draft his senior year of high school. He turned down this offer to go to college. He went to a small college at first then moved to the University of Arkansas. He played for the Hogs, this is when little me started to watch this young man dominate the SEC and become my favorite player. He stayed until his junior year, he skipped his senior year to marry his high school sweetheart and enter the Major League Baseball draft once more. He was picked deep in the round to the Cleveland Indians. He started out in the minors and worked his way up into the Majors. He, Cliff Lee, was one of the best pitchers in the league that he played in. He dominated most players. He had a large amount of strikeouts. After spending a few years in the minor leagues he was called up to play in the Majors. Every kids dream. He is and was a great pitcher. He has made it to many all star games and other major achievements. He jumped from team to team a few teams. He is currents on the Phillies I believe. Cliff Lee may not be the best player to ever play the game, but he made it to the show. What every kid dreams for, like me. Cliff Lee encourages me because he came from a small town in Arkansas as I am doing now. He played for the University of Arkansas, he achieved many things that  a lot of people told him that he couldn’t do. I am in the same boat I feel. It would awesome to play college baseball. Even if it wasn’t for the Hogs. This is why Cliff Lee has encouraged me, he grew up small and is and has lived a huge life. Breaking records and going places from a small town Arkansas boy.

Pol Pot

Pol Pot was a political leaders and took place in the Cambodian revolution. He led the Khmer Rouge from 1963-1997. I picked to do my free write on pol pot is because I did a speech on him in my oral comm speech. The group he led, the Kymer Rouge was a very strong and a group mainly known for violence and they killed over 2 million people. The killed people from starvations, forced working, and executions.

During the years 1963 all the way to 1981. He served as a Secretary of the Communist party of the city with the name of Kampuchea.  Pol pot fell to his death april 15, 1998 the year the I was born. He was brought to the world May 19, 1925. During his years he wrote a book about the Genocide that took place in Cambodia, the Genocide that he himself, pol pot created when he killed 2 million people. He killed a little under 20 percent of the population. The reason that he killed most of these people because he felt like the people were going to come out and revolt against him. He also wanted to create a “perfect” society in his eyes.  Another fun fact is that a large majority of the people that he killed were smart and educated people. He wanted everyone to be and act like a peasant. When he was farther into his life pol pot requested the death of a lot of his family. He requested a the death of his defense minister. He also had all of his kids to their death, there were 9 kids. Last but not least he ordered the death of his wife. Pol Pots sister was a secondary husband to the king. She was known as a dancer and a person that drank a lot. She was not a good person in society.

In conclusion, not very many people liked him. He killed millions of people because he was scared of them. He died at the age of 72 to heart failure. I think that he was a very cruel man, and didn’t deserve the right to lead. I could not see a reason why someone would like or respect the man.

 Hulk:
Who’s green and large and gets stronger if he gets madder. He has a multitude of
powers, far more than King Kong Bing Bong. Ol’ Hulk Can do just about anything
you can think of. From unbelieveable strength, his incredible jumping ability,
to accelerated healing.

King Kong:
Destroying houses with a single step, who clocked in at 145 feet tall in his
fight vs Godzilla. He weighs 60,000 pounds and having to take in about 7,500
pounds of food each day. Can you imagine how much protein is in all that food?
King Kong is one giant ape.

Hulk:
We all know one of Hulks main powers is his incredible strength.  Except
for his grey incarnation, The Hulk can lift 100 tons when calm. In this case,
the madder The Hulk gets, the stronger he gets caused by an extra surge. Do to
his strength he is able to be resistant to other objects such as extreme heat
and cold, bullets, fire, grenades, artillery shells, concussive forces &
such. During
times of high stress or anger, an increase in adrenaline causes the Hulk's
strength to increase dramatically. There has never been a limit shown as to the
highest strength the Hulk can reach thus it is assumed it is
limitless.

King Kong:
King Kong is a great fighter once he gets close, using his large arms,
powerful muscles, and mighty fists to strike fear and pain to his opponent. King
Kong cannot be harmed by electrical currents, and instead, feeds on their power
in order to awaken him from a state of unconsciousness or He can also use those
same electrical currents, whether they are man-made or natural, to allow him to
release surges of electricity from his hands to his opponent.

Hulk:
The Hulks' leg muscles are augmented so much that the Hulk can travel miles in a
single causal jump. Jumping is the standard mode of transportation for the less
intelligent incarnations of the Hulk. The Hulk has been known to make it into
the earth's atmosphere on a single leap. Given the strength of the leap and the
angle of trajectory when landing, the Hulk can create large craters and limited
seismic activity when landing. perfect for jumping straight up and landing a
punch on Kong Kings nose.

King
Kong: King Kong has already fought major competitors in Godzilla and The giant
Octopus so what is a small green bodybuilder to a 145 ft and 60,000 pound
gorilla.  After watching videos of simulated fight on youtube between the
2, King Kong comes out on top.

Hulk:
The
Hulk has probably the quickest healing factor than anyone in the Marvel
Universe, including Wolverine. Wounds that would be deadly to most other heroes
takes just a short time for the Hulk to recover. During a battle with Vector, he
repelled all of the skin off of the Hulk leaving just exposed flesh and muscle.
It took the Hulk minutes to regain the mass and be completely
healed.

King
Kong: King Kong is known for fighting in the mountains or near water, so all he
would have to do is throw him into water where he would drown because of his
large muscle mass would make him sink. Or throw him off of a large cliff where
the hulk would come down like a shooting into the earth and then bury him
quickly so he would be stuck.

Hulk:
 The
Hulk just recently discovered another power that The Hulk had, and that is the
ability to breath under water.  Over the years, The Hulk's body has
developed a gland that allows him to breath fluids.  This is also handy in
another way, since it allows The Hulk's lungs to be filled with fluids when he
is underwater. And in the Avengers when the Hulk was rummaging through the ship,
a plane started shooting at him to distract his attention. Hulk quickly jumped
on the plane and started ripping it apart. Then the pilot ejected and the plane
blew up a few seconds after, launching Hulk several thousands of feet straight
down. Crash landing into a brick building and  got up quickly to go rip
apart aliens attacking New York.

King Kong:
King Kong would win simply because he is so large compared to the hulk and
he has already faced tough competitors while King Kong will be the Hulks first
real competition. And remember King Kong can destroy towns with a few strides,
imagine how the hulk would look smashed up under 60,000 pounds of pressure from
king kongs foot.

Hulk:
This is actually not Hulks first real competitor, while defending the human race in
New York City fighting the endless swarm of alien gliders. When all of a sudden,
an unidentified gigantic flying object came shooting out of the port hole. The
hulk simply didn’t take anytime to punch the object in the face, causing it to
pole vault with momentum, with one single punch.  With many more powers
than the overgrown monkey known as King Kong. There is no way Hulk doesn’t have
it in the bag.

Both:
So ask yourself, who won the fight?

I personally think that college athletes should be paid. Many people would disagree
and say that the players are already on full rides. This is true, however you
cant fit a entire team into a full ride. Every team has players getting a free
education, however, Many players have to pay for their own education.

There are many walk-on athletes on these sports teams, the have to pay for their
own education while spending countless hours training to help their team win.
These players should be giving a portion of what they are giving to the program.
In other words, these players that dedicated  a lot of time into their
sport and the program should be rewarded with a portion of the money that is
spent watching them play.

Paying college athletes could also raise the performance of the players,
they could have more motivation while training knowing that they are going
to be getting paid for the work that they are putting in.

Most of the players in pro sports get paid millions a year, that is no where
near the number that college athletes should be paid. Many college students have
part time jobs that they work at after and before class to help them afford
living expenses and food. Given that athletes spend 90% of their time outside of
class training for their sport they cant have a job.

Say a student works for 20 hours a week at the local Out Back and makes 10$ a
hour, that is 80 hours a month and making 800$ every month. Athletes don’t have
the time to work 80 hours a month, not near enough time.

Athletes do get free flights to go play away games, free meals, and team gear
along with many other things i'm sure. However, these players need money to do
the things they want and buy the things they need.

College football makes the most out of all college sports, that's given. Alabama
made a little over $123 million in 2008, they made the most that year. Texas at
120 million, LSU 85 million, and Oregon at number 40 on the list of 2008 at 56
million. These numbers are only for the football teams. So, surely with the
amount of money they are making they can pay the players putting in a large
portion of their time.

I am not saying that we pay players like Johnny Manziel 2million dollars a year
or even $2,000 a semester. I think that college athletes should receive a
percentage of the income and divide between the team, or be paid a base of 500$
a month while school is in session. 500$ a month is lower that a student working
a 20 hour work week at 10$ a hour.

Many people think that college students should have a job in college and these
students that are student athletes can not have a job with their schedule during
the school year. Managing a time schedule between games, practices, studying, and
needed sleep would be very difficult with hardly any reward and dedication to the
job cause you would be there so rarely.

In conclusion college athletes should be rewarded with a portion of money that they
are helping their program earn.

Cliff Lee has been a baseball player I have looked up to for many years. He
started out as a kid that loved to be outside and then started baseball from the
request of local coaches. He had a large amount of natural ability. As he played
the game he just got better and better. He was usually the best player on the
field and was the player you loved to hate because he was so good. He went on to
play High School baseball and excelled on the mound. He had a cockiness to
himself that some say helped him through his career. During his senior year of
High School, he enrolled in the draft and was drafted really late. He decided
not to go pro, he ended up playing for a small college team for two years. After
that he moved onto the Arkansas Razorbacks. Here he was my favorite pitcher,
dominating opposing batters. He stayed at Baum Stadium for a few years. Cliff
Lee entered the draft again his senior year of college and left to go play AA
baseball for the Indians Farm team. He dominated the field for many years, he
then moved to triple AAA and after that he went on to play in the Majors. He was
a great pitcher. He broke a few records, Cliff Lee left his mark on every team
that he played for. He played for the Phillies, Rangers, and the Indians. There
were other teams he played for also. When he left college to enter into the
draft he married his high school sweetheart. When he played for the Rangers I
watched him a lot like I did when he played for the Arkansas Razorbacks baseball
team. When he was here I loved watching him pitch. He was a stud on the mound.
When he was on the Rangers I got to watch him play in the world series and the
playoff games that lead him to the finals. When Cliff Lee played for the Hogs I
got to watch him pitch in Omaha at the college world series. This pitcher is one
that I will always enjoy talking about and watch through his days of being a pro
baseball player. He is one of my many favorites to walk onto the field and be a
Arkansas Razorback baseball player.

Many memories haunt my mind every day. From dreams about the past to visions that cross my mind. Some things stay longer while others leave quickly. Some of these memoires I just want to shred and tell to leave forever, while some are ones I would like to keep with me throught out my life time.

One of the memories I think about everytime I go sledding or walking om ice is the day my brother, cousin, and I had a adventures day at my grandpas house. The day all started when we woke with snow all over the ground and filling the air. We go and get the eggs from the chickens and start breakfast eager to get out into the snow once more for the day.

We are dress warm and ready to have some fun in the snow. We ride the go-cart around spraing rostertails of snow all over the place. Eventually we start to get muddy from the torn up grass the sliding around has caused. We end up tieing a sled to the back and pulling eachother around, it was a great idea. Was it a great idea thought?

After about a hour of slinging eachother around behind the sled we all get a little more touchy on the gas pedal and start trying to sling eachother off faster. After a few more times I am driving my cousin Dylan and I rip around a corner and he catchs a lip in the dirt. He flies through the air like a rag doll. He starts to scream, I turn around and hurry to him. He lies there for a moment then gets up. He had a huge bruice across his body. He landed on a huge bed of rocks.

We decided to put the go-cart away, we then go out to the pond that is frozen. We take turns going across the pond. We are not the smartest people. The pont was not very thick. After about 15 minutes of messing around on the pond the pond starts to crack. I try to run from it but the pond is breaking fast. I go to jump onto the grass, but it breaks just as I apply force to the ice. My leg gets soacked and I have to go inside and dry my pants.

Later we just play PS2 and eat dinner. It was a pretty good day, but sure a cold one and some pain involved.

I have had many happy moments in my life span. One of them was hitting a grand-slam in my 14 year old state tournament. We were playing the Bulldogs. It was possibly going to be the last game of the year. A end to my 14 year old USSSA season. We were down two in the final inning with time expired. The bases were loaded and we had one out.

This was the second game of the day, having already beaten a team from Little Rock. We beat them with a score of 7-3. They couldn't pitch, having all of their pitchers used up just to get to this game. They walked in three runs, and we were pounding the baseball.

During the game against the Bulldogs, it was a good day so far. It was Fathers day, it was also a nice sunny day. As I strolled to the plate everyone was cheering. The pitcher that I was about to dual against was a old teammate of mine just last year. His name was Caleb. He is a left hander know for being very un accurate. The catcher is also a old teammate, Mark Davis. He is one of the coolest kids I know.

The pitcher wound up for the first pitch, threw a curve that I missed for strike one. The next two pitches were balls in the dirt that brought the count to 2-1. Their coach came out for a mound visit, he had walked the last two batters. Caleb winds up again and throws a fastball belt high. My eyes get wide because the pitch is so fat, screaming for me to scorch it. I take a huge cut, the ball flies off my bat. The left fielder gives chase to the ball, but then stops abruptly seeing the ball fly over the fence with ease.

My team mobs me at the plate and we are heading to the state championship game. We lost that game 3-2. It was a bad effort for our team that started early, but was a good day overall.

I wake up, Chamionship Sunday. I throw on some shorts and a tee shirt to go eat some breakfast. As I enter the lobby I see my teamates sitting down eatting their food. I pull a chair over and request an omlet and fruit bowl. As we eat, we talk about the game coming up. Sitting inside the hotel, hours in the car away from home. After a week of playing baseball, eatting seafood, and walking down the beach. They day has come, the day of the Chamionship game.

We wake up very early in the morning. We have our bags packed, and ready to head out. We are leaving before anyone else, we leave at 4 in the morning. We have Westin with us, one of my teamates. He is going to be riding down with us. We play on our phones, listen to music, and just talk pretty much the whole way down. Stopping every once in a while to eat and fill up the car. The trip is rather boring, but what trip isn’t. Sitting in one spot going down a stright flat road for countless hours and miles.

When we arrived at the large destination calle, Gulf Shores. There was 62 teams in this town right now. The first day here we are down at the beach and walking down the beach with my teamates trying to pick up chicks. We play racketball in the hotel and Our postseaon mohawks are looking pretty sweet.

Day two, we spend playing baseball. The player we picked up named will that is from the All Arkansas team that we were on together is quite the player. We go hand in hand. We are both huge, 6’3” and 190 each. We can both stroke the ball and throw the heater. Our team is clearly one of the best teams here. We go 2-0 the 1st day on these amazing fields, they are way better than what we have back home. Game 1 we won 14-1, beating a AA team who should not even be on the same field as us. Game 2 we spend in a pitching dual. We end up winning the game 3-0 on a walk off 3 run homerun by Westin Church.

That night we spending roaming the beach. We went fishing on the shore line, we caught a lot of fish. I caught 2 sharks. They were about a foot and half a piece. We cooked all of the fish we caught and then went to bed, needing to rest for the next day.

Day three, we all wake up at the crack of dawn having the 8 O’clock game and having to show up at 7 am. Once we reach the field we all get into our streching, and agilities lines. After we get the blood pumping we hit the batting cage. We are smashing the baseball. After we all hit we take out our gloves and warm up. I am pitching this game againist one of the best teams in this tourney. We end up winning by a close score 2-1. Game 4 of the tourney comes along and our team is playing bad. The 9th inning roles around and im up 1st, we are down 3-0. I get hit in the back, it left a mark. Next Will is up, smashing a double. 3-1. Next Badger hits a 2 run home run, now 3-3. The pitcher then walks 2 stright then Westin its a Walk off double. We are now 4-0 and the 2 seed going into bracket play.

Eliminmation starts, its July 4. We are playing in the gold bracket and are 4-0. The team we are playing went 2-2. We take them on at 11am. It turned out to be a easy game. We hit 2 homers in the 1st inning giving us a 5-0 lead. They game stayed like that throughout, We advanced to the 2pm quarter final game agaisnt a 3-1 team for Texas. The game stayed knoted at 1-1 till the 7th when Cole hits a triple then scored on a whild pitch. They other team ansered back with a 2 run home run. We were down 3-2. The bottom of th 9th came along with 1 out. I hit a double, stole third and was hit home. The next 2 guys struckout. We go into extras were we end up winning 5-4 in the 12th.

That night we partyed hard. It was the 4th of July, fireworks going off everwhere down at the beach. Watching drunk people all over the place, having a great time.

The team went out for a team brunch. We played at 4pm, versus the 3rd best team in the nation. As the game started, the 1st pitch came and I stroked one right back up the middle and hit the pither in the arm. He started screaming, I stoped at 1st. Everyone runs out and he is carted away. Later in the game it is said he broke his arm. We ended up winning the game 11-8. The pitching for both of our teams was very bad. We came out with the ugly win however.

Chamionship Sunday, I wake up early full of energy. Its 6am, I cant sleep. I decide to go grab some food along the beachline. As a strole down the beach I think about the game to come. I stop to grab some food and my teamate, Westin, is already here. I sit with him and we talk about the day to come. Shortly, before we relize it its time to start the game.

We are playing the 1 seed who also was 4-0 and now 7-0, just like us. The game is a pitchers dual until they hit a 3 run home run in the 6th. We fight back scoring 1 in the next 2 innings. We are down 1 goingi into the 8 where they score 2 more. It comes down to the 9th, bases are loaded 2 outs, I am at the plate. Tieing run  is 180ft away on 2nd. Here comes the pitch, its a curveball and I rip it up the middle, Into the outfield. The center fielder charges, one run in. Cole from second is rounding 3rd and heading for home. The fielder fires the ball. Seconds, then you see the conision. Cole ran over the catcher, safe. The catcher gets up and shoves him. I run from 1st and tackle the catcher. The benchs clear. Fans are screaming and coachs are trying to pull kids off of eachother. Badger gets into it with the pitcher and throws a punch into the pitchers face. Blood is covering the area around home plate. Many players are hurt, on of their coachs has a cut running across his eye.

The game goes into extras. We hold them, going into the bottom of the 10th. The 1st pitch is thrown at our head, he drops. Benchs come out again, several players are thrown out of the game, the pitcher that hit him ends up with a broken collarbone from Devin body slaming him onto one of his teamates.

The game goes on, into the 13th inning Slunder is up again. Runners on 1st and second, 1out. He bunts advancing the runners to 2nd and 3rd. Harmon comes up, batting just 139 in the tourney. He gets walked on a 11 pitch at bat. Will comes up, here is the pitch… He swings, you hear the crack of the bat, the Left fielder runs back towards the wall. The ball is going...going...going. The fielder leaps…… Ball hits his glove and pops right back out going over the wall. We won!!!!!!

That night some of us went fishing and went to the srtip to hang out and have fun. However, some of the people and their familes went home that night. We all had a great night! We stayed out till 4 in the morning hanging out. We all had to get up early, in a few hours. We had many hours in the car, many of us would be sleeping the entire way from staying up so late and having our bodies so tired and sore from the games.

On the trip back I think about how awesome it was to go out number one in my last year of travel baseball. I won the home-run derby skills championship. Many of my teamates one some of the skills things also, like fast most accurate, and others. Our team was clearly the best or one of the best there from day one. We proved that also winning the touney. Me and my teamates will be playing highschool baseball now, apart from eachother.

Most of us have grown up together. Playing travel baseball with eachother since we were 9 years old. Losing many games together and winning many. Some of them ill play with and some agianist in highschool baseball. My teamates have been like brothers, hate them and love them. Through all of out problems and chamiponships we have came out number 1. We leave our tracks unforgoton, setting the stakes high for the teams to follow in our foot steps.

The Super Bowl this year, 2014, was a bad one in my opinion. Super Bowl XLVlll had my favorite team, the Denver Broncos. They have been my favorite team since I could watch the game of football. The dueled against the Seattle Sea hawks. The game was very one sided offensively and defensively. My team, the Denver Broncos were the best team in the NFL when they had the all in their hands. We have one of the best QB s in the history of football.

I had many people over at my house for the game. We had a lot of food and drinks. I had made Bronco brownies and we had team logo plates and brownies. We all wanted the Broncos to win besides my grandpa, who had been to a Sea hawks game a lot time ago.

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting events of the year, it is supposed to have awesome commercials. This year the game was very lopsided, not even close. During timeouts and between quarters the commercials were the worst they have been as far as I can remember. There were a few good ones, but heck I just wanted to find the puppy bowl because my team got destroyed. The final score was 43-8.

There were records broken at the game. Payton Manning for the Broncos set a record for the most completed passes in a single Super Bowl game. Another record set in the game was the fasted score in a Super Bowl, it was less than 15 seconds. The center for the Broncos made a bad snap and that resulted in a safety.

The Sea hawks earned the win, they played a awesome game. On both sides of the ball they dominated. The QB for the Sea hawks is a amazing athlete. He was drafted into the NFL only a few years ago. He also played Major League Baseball a few years prior to be drafted into the NFL.

In conclusion I hated the Super Bowl, my team was destroyed.
